What to Expect

in a QHHT Session

A Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique® (QHHT) session is a guided exploration of your subconscious mind. It’s a calm, focused process designed to help you access insight, clarity, and understanding from within yourself. For many, this includes a past-life regression.

Developed by Dolores Cannon over decades of work, QHHT reaches a natural state of deep relaxation. Your mind already passes through this state twice a day, just before waking and just before sleep. In that state, a deeper part of you becomes accessible: what Dolores called the Subconscious, and what many experience as their Higher Self or the soul. It holds the full picture of your life: the patterns, the purpose, the reasons behind things that have never quite made sense.

A QHHT session gives you a rare opportunity to meet that part of yourself directly. The answers don’t come from me. They come from you.

If you’re preparing for your session, or considering booking one, here’s exactly what to expect in a QHHT session.

QHHT sessions are conducted in-person at my Marietta, GA office (shown above).

How a QHHT Session Unfolds

A QHHT session isn’t rushed, and that’s intentional. Most sessions run 4 to 6 hours, sometimes a little longer. The time isn’t filler; every part of it serves a purpose. Here’s what to expect from start to finish.

Each session includes:

1. The Conversation:

We start by talking. Just the two of us, at whatever pace feels comfortable. You’ll share what’s brought you here — your life, your experiences, the patterns you’ve noticed, the questions that keep surfacing. The more honestly you share, the more your Subconscious has to work with when we get to the hypnosis.

Many clients tell me afterward that even this part alone felt valuable — just having the space to lay it all out, to be genuinely heard.

2. The Hypnosis:

When we’re ready, I’ll guide you into a deeply relaxed state. It’s not sleep, and it’s not what you’ve seen in movies. You’ll be aware throughout. You’ll be able to think, speak, and observe…just deeply, peacefully settled.

From there, your Subconscious leads the way. The experience that unfolds is uniquely yours. Some people move through vivid, cinematic scenes from another time and place. Others receive quiet impressions, feelings, or a simple sense of knowing. Some experience both. There’s no right way for it to look, and there’s truly no way to do it wrong.

What comes up is always what’s most relevant for you — whether that’s a past life, a symbolic experience, or something closer to home.

3. The Conversation with Your Subconscious:

This is the heart of the session. Once the regression completes, I’ll invite your Subconscious into direct conversation. This is where we go through your prepared questions and ask for whatever clarity, understanding, or healing you’ve been seeking.
Clients bring questions about all kinds of things: recurring patterns, relationships, physical conditions, a sense of purpose that’s just out of reach. The Subconscious has access to all of it — and it communicates with a clarity that often surprises people.

4. Coming Back & Closing

When the time is right, I’ll gently guide you back to full awareness. We’ll take a few quiet moments to land before we talk through what came up.

Later, you’ll be emailed an audio recording of your session. Most clients find they need to listen more than once — insights that felt clear in the moment often deepen over the days and weeks that follow. Some report that healing and understanding continue to unfold long after they’ve gone home.

Let's Clear Up Some Misconceptions

If you’ve never experienced hypnosis before, it’s natural to have some uncertainty about what you’re walking into. Most of what people imagine comes from stage hypnosis, movies, or TV — and none of it applies here.

  • You will not lose control.
  • You will not be unconscious.
  • No one can make you say or do anything you wouldn’t choose on your own.
  • Your values, your boundaries, and your sense of self remain completely intact throughout.

What hypnosis actually feels like is much quieter than people expect. It’s closer to that absorbed, unhurried state you slip into when you’re deep in a book, or lost in a vivid memory, or drifting in that soft space just before sleep. You’re present. You’re aware. You can speak, move, and come back to full alertness at any moment.

The role I play is simply to guide you into that state and hold the space while your own deeper wisdom does the work. Nothing is done to you. Everything unfolds through you.

You are safe the entire time, and most people are surprised by how natural and peaceful it feels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Over time, I’ve noticed the same questions come up again and again — which tells me they’re worth answering here. If yours isn’t on the list, just reach out. No question is too small.

How is QHHT different from regular hypnosis?

Most hypnosis works at a lighter level of trance and is typically used to address specific habits or behaviors — things like sleep, stress, or smoking cessation. QHHT goes considerably deeper: the same level your mind naturally touches just before you fall asleep each night.

At that depth, the subconscious becomes more accessible. Rather than suggesting new patterns to the conscious mind, QHHT opens a direct dialogue with the Subconscious itself — allowing you to explore the root causes behind patterns, experiences, and physical conditions, often across multiple lifetimes.

I hear you, but I promise, everyone can be hypnotized. Your experience will be different than how you’ve seen “hypnosis” portrayed in movies, but you will be able to access your subconscious and have a successful session!

Hypnosis works in the Alpha and Theta brain wave states. Your mind naturally progresses through these states dozens of times every day. Trust the process – you will get there!

If, for some reason, your brain doesn’t want to cooperate on the day of your session, we will reschedule and try again.

Most people only need one. A single QHHT session covers a lot of ground, and because you leave with a recording, the insights and healing continue unfolding for weeks after your session as you listen and integrate.

That said, some clients choose to return. Life brings new chapters, new questions, and new layers of understanding. If something feels unresolved, or if you simply want to go deeper, a second session is always an option. I recommend waiting at least 6 months between sessions.

So, there’s no pressure to plan beyond the one you’re booking. Most people find it’s enough.

You do not need to believe in past lives to have a valuable QHHT session. Your subconscious mind is part of you, and it will stay within your belief systems.

The subconscious will only show you what you are ready to see/hear in a way that you are open to receiving it.

My role is to create a relaxing, welcoming space to facilitate the best experience for you.

Being analytical doesn’t work against you in QHHT. If anything, your ability to observe, describe, and reflect is an asset!

The conscious mind doesn’t need to be silenced. It just needs to step back a little and let something deeper come through. And that shift happens naturally as you relax, not through any effort on your part.

The one thing I’ll ask of you is this: say the first thing that comes to mind, without filtering it. Don’t evaluate it, question it, or decide whether it “makes sense” before you speak. The analytical mind loves to edit, and we want the unedited version. Even if what comes feels like you’re making it up, say it anyway. Often, that’s exactly where the most meaningful material lives.

Trust the process! Your mind knows how to do this.

You do not need to “see” anything to have a successful session. The goal is to get a good, clear connection with your subconscious mind. Sometimes that involves a visual journey, and sometimes it’s a more conceptual/imagination based experience. Everyone has a subconscious mind, and everyone has access to it – regardless of how much they visualize.

Not everyone experiences visual imagery, including me. Some people sense, conceptualize, imagine, feel, or simply “know.”

Your subconscious communicates in the way that works best for you. Simply trust that your mind will present info in the right way for you.

The best thing you can do is get your conscious mind out of the way. How? Just say the first idea that pops into your mind. No filtering. The more you describe, the more you “see”, and the deeper you sink into hypnosis.

Don’t worry. I’ve got you!

Fleeting images are normal. Slowing down and describing what you did notice often allows the experience to expand. Read more below!

That’s completely natural. Most clients feel some anticipation beforehand. Once the session begins, relaxation typically comes quickly.

This varies from person to person. Some people remember absolutely everything in detail. Others remember nothing at all. Anything along this spectrum is normal.

You wouldn’t be the first person or the last to fall asleep during a QHHT session! Sleeping during your session does not impede the work we can still do with your subconscious.

When someone falls asleep during the session, I usually let them rest for 5-15 minutes and then connect to the subconscious mind. It still works. Every time.

I believe everyone experiences what they need during their QHHT session, and sometimes they need deep rest.

You’re welcome to have someone drive you or wait nearby, but the session itself is just the two of us.

The presence of another person, even someone you completely trust, can subtly affect what you’re willing to say, explore, or feel. The session works best when you have total privacy and feel free to go wherever the experience takes you, without any part of you wondering how it looks to someone else.

Your recording is yours to share afterward, in whatever way feels right.

No, and it’s important to be clear about this.

QHHT is a complementary experience, not a replacement for medical care, therapy, or psychiatric treatment. If you’re currently working with a doctor, therapist, or mental health professional, please continue to do so.

What QHHT can offer is a different kind of insight — one that works alongside conventional care, not instead of it.

Preparing for a QHHT Session

Preparing for a QHHT session is simple. There’s no special practice, no prior experience required, and nothing to study. However, a few small things can help prepare you for a great experience.

Prepping your body: what to eat and drink. Eat a light meal before you arrive. You don’t want anything too heavy, and you want to avoid an empty stomach.

What should you avoid? Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and recreational substances for 24 hours beforehand. You want your mind clear and your body relaxed. Pretend you’re getting ready for a cozy nap.

Dress comfortably. You’ll be lying down for a significant part of the session. Wear whatever you’d wear to feel at ease for a few hours.

Protect your time. Sessions run 4 to 6 hours, and the value of our session extends beyond that time. Try not to schedule anything demanding immediately before or after. Give yourself room to arrive unhurried and leave without rushing.

Write your questions. Before your session, spend some time with your list of questions for your Subconscious. The more honest and personal the questions, the more meaningful the answers tend to be. Review this resource page for help writing your list of questions.

Let go of expectations. This is perhaps the most important preparation of all. Every session unfolds differently, and the experience rarely looks the way people imagine it will.  Trust that whatever comes through is exactly what you need.

Book a Session

Mariana is completing her QHHT internship and will be offering one free, no-cost session per client during this time. For your free session, use code “PROMO2526”. (This code will be active until her internship is compete.)

After Your Session

When your session ends, you may feel a bit groggy, like you’ve woken up from a deep nap. That’s normal. That’s why we plan on 20-60 minutes of review time after your hypnosis session is complete.

Most clients leave feeling deeply relaxed, emotionally clear and reflective…but also thirsty, lightheaded, and hungry. Drink plenty of water and eat something after your session. Personally, I find electrolytes very helpful.

Not everything will land at once. Some insights arrive clearly during the session and settle deeper in the days that follow. Others surface slowly, triggered by something small like a conversation, a dream, a quiet moment. This is part of the process, not a sign that something was missed. Your QHHT session opens the channel for new developments and change to continue.

A few things that support integration in the days after your session:

Listen to your recording. This is important. Much of what came through deserves more than one listen. Clients frequently notice details they don’t remember, and many report that the healing continues each time they return to it. (Please allow 2-14 days for recordings to be sent.)

Rest and hydrate. Your system has done significant work! Be gentle with yourself and listen to your body’s needs.

Be patient with the process. Avoid the urge to immediately analyze or explain everything you experienced. Let it breathe. Understanding often comes when you’re not reaching for it.
