I’ve been reading The Game of Life and How to Play It by Florence Scovel Shinn lately, and I keep finding myself stopping mid-page to sit with what she’s saying. Written in 1925, it’s a surprisingly modern exploration of how the subconscious mind shapes our reality, and it’s been giving me a lot to think about in the context of my own work and new insight on the benefits of QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique). I wanted to share some of those ideas here, alongside what I’ve observed in sessions, because they speak to something most of us already sense but rarely examine directly.
The benefits of QHHT go deeper than most people expect when they first schedule a session. On the surface, it looks like a guided hypnosis experience. What it is: a direct conversation with the objective, observant, eternal part of you.
That part is your subconscious mind (or soul, higher self). And it has insights that can completely alter your reality in powerful ways.
Your Subconscious Has Been Listening to Everything
Florence Scovel Shinn wrote that “whatever man feels deeply or images clearly, is impressed upon the subconscious mind, and carried out in minutest detail.”
Nearly a century later, that observation holds up. The subconscious mind doesn’t evaluate what it receives. It doesn’t distinguish between something that happened to you and something you imagined vividly, or between a belief you chose and one you absorbed as a child without knowing it. It simply stores what it receives and acts on it.
This is why so many people find themselves repeating the same patterns in relationships, finances, health, and self-worth, even when they consciously want something different. The conscious mind wants to make changes. The subconscious mind can explain the program.
Shinn described the subconscious as “simply power, without direction. It is like steam or electricity, and it does what it is directed to do.” The question, then, is who is doing the directing, and whether that direction is taking you where you want to go.
The Benefits of QHHT: Making the Impossible, Possible
One of the most significant benefits of QHHT is that it creates a direct line to the subconscious mind at a depth where real dialogue becomes possible. This isn’t surface-level suggestion or willpower or years of slowly chipping away at a pattern from the outside. It’s a direct conversation with the source. As a QHHT practitioner, I get to facilitate the conversation…like a podcast host, but not annoying.
In that deeply relaxed state, the Subconscious can reveal the origin of a pattern, the belief underneath a block, or the experience from this life (or another) that has been shaping present-day reality. Once that origin is seen and understood, your awareness shifts. Not because the information is forced out, but because the subconscious chose to bring it forward at exactly the right time.
This is what makes QHHT different from most approaches to personal growth. You’re not trying to override the subconscious from the outside. You’re working with it from within.
What Clients Experience
Every session is unique, and no two people walk away with the same experience. The benefits of QHHT are often tailored to each client. That said, certain things come up again and again in the conversations I have with clients after their sessions.
Clarity tends to be the first thing people mention. A clear, settled understanding of something that had felt confusing or unresolvable for years. Sometimes it arrives as an answer to a specific question. Sometimes it’s a broader shift in perspective that reorganizes the way a person sees their own life.
Emotional relief follows closely behind. Longstanding grief, anger, guilt, or fear without obvious origin can surface, be understood, and begin to release in a single session. Clients often experience emotional release during their session and describe feeling lighter afterward.
Increased physical awareness is something that surprises people. The subconscious holds information about the body that the conscious mind doesn’t always have access to. Many clients gain insight into the emotional or energetic roots of physical conditions they’ve been carrying, sometimes for years.
A renewed sense of purpose tends to follow naturally from all of the above. When the weight of unresolved patterns lifts, there’s more room to feel what you’re here to do.
Reprogramming From the Inside Out
Shinn wrote that “the imaging faculty plays a leading part in the game of life” and that a person who trains their mind to hold images of good brings into their life every righteous desire of their heart. This isn’t the same concept as “manifesting” that so many talk about today. This a description of how the subconscious works and how we can use it.
QHHT gives you access to the level of mind where that reprogramming becomes possible. We are not overwriting what’s there with something new, but instead we are understanding what’s already there. With this understanding, we can ask the Subconscious to release our limitations. And it does.
That’s the real benefit of this work. It’s the experience of meeting yourself at a level most people never reach, and finding out that what’s there is far wiser, far more compassionate, and far more capable than the conscious mind alone could ever access.
