Session Stories: The Writer Who Lived Her Dream Before She Wrote It

Session Stories: The Writer Who Lived Her Dream Life Before She Wrote It - a QHHT future life progression

Introducing a new series where I share real moments from the QHHT chair — anonymized for privacy. My hope is that these stories show you what a session can actually feel like from the inside, because no amount of explaining QHHT conveys what a real example does. This story shows a QHHT future life progression.

One of the things I say to every client before we begin is this: your Subconscious knows what you need more than your conscious mind does. We can set intentions, name what we want to explore, and come in with a whole list of questions. However, your Subconscious ultimately decides what you will experience. It’ not that the Subconscious is rebellious; it’s just wise. And it may bypass what you think you want in order to get you to what you actually need. This session is an excellent example of how the Subconscious always shows up to help us in the very best way it can.

This concept used to sound abstract to me, even as a practitioner. Then I started sitting with sessions like this one.

The Session

We’ll call her Maya. She came in open and curious. Maya wasn’t attached to whether she saw a past life or something from this one. She was just totally open and wanted to see what was there. What her Subconscious brought her was something unexpected.

It was a future.

Specifically, it was her future. One where she had stopped getting in her own way and finally stepped fully into the work she’d been circling her whole life. Maya is a writer and has been since she was young. In our pre-session conversation, she shared about how she would write plays, stories, scripts…sharing stories into the mirror as a child. Screenwriting is where she is now, and in this future she was shown, she had made it.

She was living her dream life. This wasn’t a vague, symbolic experience. Instead, it was the lived, authentic, this-is-my-actual-life way. And in this future, she was wearing a bold, red swimsuit.

A QHHT Future Life Progression

I call this type of session a QHHT future life progression. They’re less common than past-life or current-life memories, but they do happen. In Maya’s case, the story unfolded in small details first, then expanded scenes, and ultimately a full story with a complete cast of characters.

This is different from a daydream or a fantasy she escaped into. It was like a mirror showing her who she already had the capacity to be.

The version of her in that future life had moved through the three things that were quietly suppressing her path in this one.

  • The first was overthinking. The fear of failure that disguises itself as careful planning.
  • The second was the feeling of being “behind” — an invisible deadline she’d set for herself, a feeling that “time was running out” on a dream that has no actual expiration date.
  • And the third, maybe the deepest one: the habit of putting herself last. This is a very relatable experience. We often take care of others first, putting our own needs an desires behind others’.

In the future she was shown, all three of those had released and healed. The reality it created was a peaceful life, a loving partner, and shared success with her friends and community. It was beautiful.

Maya’s Subconscious gave her one more gift: a powerful visual of this bold, red swimsuit.

The Debrief

She came out of that QHHT future life progression session deeply rested and quiet. Not drowsy, more like pensive and like a “deer in headlights”.

When I say ”the Subconscious gives you what you need” – this is one of the best examples I can give. She didn’t ask to see the future or to see herself successful, healed, or unblocked. She just came in open, and her Subconscious showed her proof that her dream was a possible reality.

Proof that the path she’s on is real. That the version of herself she’s working toward already exists somewhere, waiting to be lived into!

During our debrief, we talked about the red swimsuit. A detail that vivid and that specific doesn’t show up by accident. The Subconscious chose it as an anchor. It is something tangible Maya could hold onto when doubt crept back in. It is a touchstone for the future she’d just been shown.

I told her she needed to go buy a red swimsuit.

This is would serve as a reminder, something real she could put on her body that says: this version of me is real, and she is coming.

I will always think about this session when clients come in worried that they won’t experience “the right thing”. There is no “right” experience! The Subconscious is not random. It absolutely knows what it’s doing. Your only job is to show up and let it work.
